Fabulous Photinias.

The Photinia ( Photinia robusta ) is an evergreen shrub or small tree which is very popular as a hedge or screen plant. There are many varieties of Photinia, but the main attraction of this plant is it's white or creamy white flowers, and it's lovely bright red new foliage in spring and early summer, which contrasts beautifully with it's glossy green mature leaves. The Photinia benefits from regular pruning to keep the plant compact, preferably after the flush of new growth has finished. This plant is native to several warm-temperate Asian countries. it is fast growing and has relatively few pests and diseases. As you can see, it is very happy growing in my home City of Sydney.
