Revelation: The most dangerous scam in human history & the revolution you are now a part of

First off, let me preface what I have to say by stating that I have a profound respect for religious people who live God in their heart. While I certainly don't feel it is requirement, I do often find that the people closest to God, to be religious folk. As you can tell, my use of the term God is obviously not tied to any specific religious tradition. In my eyes, religions are like different paths which should lead you in the general vicinity of the more universal concept of God. You can substitute the term God, for Truth, Good, Love, or if you want be even more abstract, Reality or True Being. I won't get into a precise definition as that would merit a post of its own but I think the idea is clear enough. Those who do not consider themselves religious but do think of themselves as spiritual, probably already have a similar understanding.

The problem is when religions make an absolute claim on revelation. From a very human perspective, it makes sense. What greater power can a person or organization have than to claim they are the sole possessors of God’s revelation. Yet how can that be? How could we limit the infinite (God) to any finite book or teaching? What dangers can arise when a group of people claim to possess God? Well one need only look around at the world today or to study history to find the, at times horrific, answer to that.

Revelation is always unfolding
If the world as we know it is a creation or manifestation of God, then how could we not believe every moment is a revelation? Sure, some moments, some stories may reveal God in a more direct or digestible manner. You may feel closer to God in a moment of shared love, but isn't the pain of love lost, a testament to the truth of love and God as well? Some writings, moments or people may reveal God in a more direct manner to a larger group of people and should be exalted for that reason; and have been throughout history.

The revolution
Just as blockchains, cryptocurrencies, and steemit look to redistribute power through the decentralization of money and information; they will, I hope, help decentralize the notion of revelation and truth as we build new ladders toward God. New ladders, new revelations; available to all and controlled by none.

Good questions! And yes history has shown us some answers to those questions.. I wish more followers of mainstream groups would think about that more often.

That's an interesting idea! I hope you're right!
