RE: Are you sure one plus one equals two?

in #philosophy6 years ago

It is interesting because people often have many confusions when analyzing the context, the same answer can be true or not depending on the context, not because the truth is relative, but because although we use the same symbols, characters, or numbers, we can be referring to different things.

But if we clarify the context, and we know that we are talking about arithmetic, 1+1 will always be 2, even if we have other numbers such as the Greek or the Roman, the concept that transcends such numbers is present, as for example, some rocks, if I take one rock and add it to another, the result will always be two rocks.

I believe that the problem with such confusions is based on the premise that a person possesses the truth. People issue opinions, and however objective such opinions may be, there will always be some degree of subjectivity in it.

So, it is not that the truth for one is different from the other, universality is a requisite sine qua non for there to be truth, what is different is the opinion of one and others, and that some give it the rank of truth to his opinion, but not for that his opinion is no longer an opinion.

By the way, this is just my opinion.
