ANIMAL TESTING - Should animals be used to test on scientifically or commercially

in #philosophy7 years ago (edited)

The US alone uses about 26 mio animals to test on each year. Laboratories use animals to test medicine or check the safety of cosmetic products.

Some people say that animal testing helped to develop life saving treatments and medicine and say that there is no other method to test on.

Others say that it's inhumane and cruel and that there are other methods to test products. Also, animals are not humans and animals could react differently on these tested products than humans.

No animal should suffer the cruelty these test animals suffer. These are sentient living creatures who don't deserve mistreatment the same as we don't deserve it. What these laboratories do to these animals is beyond our imagination and simply evil.

How do you see that?

It make me feel really bad when in 2017 animals are still used for cosmetic tests, for parfum test and other useless thing compared to their life...

Yes, it's not necessary to use these practices in 2017. There are other methods that don't include cruelty.

Animal testing is horrendous. Its great you are spreading awareness about these things. Check out some of my posts about veganism and animal rights! resteemed and Aloha

I recommend reading The Monkey Business of Laboratory Animals. Think it will speak to you :)
