Dog walk diaries: all a facade

in #philosophy6 years ago

When there are gains to be made by appearing a certain way, human nature tends to put on a face that provides the best outcome. Best however is dictated by wants and doesn't necessarily lend itself well to the future.

This picture is of the neighbouring apartment building which is just beginning its facelift. It was built in tbe mid 70s cheaply and looks like a Soviet bunker. Like the one we live in. That may be an exaggeration but, not by much.

When built though, they served a purpose, one where housing was needed but price was the driving factor, not style. Practical, not pretty.

A lot of life these days is driven by impression, productization, sales, appearances. Value is in the way it looks, not the way it functions, in the promise of it, not the reality. And, people are all about personal branding.

They talk big games, they sell the hype but when it comes time to deliver, are underwhelming and disappointing. The Jerrys of the world. We give them our attention because we want to believe that magic is real rather than the pragmatic view that to get anywhere in this life, work is required, investments must be made, risks taken.

We build our own facades in a hope to convince others of our own magical abilities, even when we know we can't live up to our own hype. The insecure boy lying about his dick size instead of building the skills so it doesn't matter.

Building skills takes time and energy whereas a lie can get results fast. The difference is that a skilled approach carries over time and builds foundation, the lie will always be uncovered eventually and the grifter will be forced to move on.

There are many grifters these days in social media and many who want to believe in magic. People destined to always be on the run or disappointed by others. One justifies their behaviour with needs, the other with blame. Both live an illusion.

We all want people to be attracted to us but, if they are attracted to a false facade, that is not who we actually are. If you want to be accepted for who you are, you have to show who you are, not who you want people to see. Of course, change is possible and we all have room to improve the view by building the skills to be able to actually deliver.

Regular production on the blockchain proves the reality of yourself. No illusions reman.

@tarazkp, That's absolutely true and we should not lie for the SHORT Term benefits or lie as a whole.

And first of all, today or tomorrow we will going to lose our Originality if we follow the cycle of lies because if we lie once sometimes this cycle drags for the long.

And whenever we showcase our true self then for sure people will will like our true nature and in this way we can create the long term relationships.

So, it's really important to stand with the truth so that we can be free from the burden of lies and we will not going to hold any baggage.

Wishing you an great day and stay blessed. 🙂

Most people won't like or care but, some will and they are the ones who matter.

That's absolutely true. 🙂

I just always look forward to your post everyday, their always something to learn...
There is no short cut to success at all.. Acquire the necessary skills! It's not easy but it will always worth it at the end and just stay you! and not what the society want you to be

It's not easy but it will always worth it at the end and just stay you!

Even if it isn't, it is much more interesting to learn than to consume.

please what's the difference between learning and consuming @tarazkp

When it comes to information, conuming is a passive act with no real value, learning builds a usable skillset. Basically.

OK now I understand, thanks @tarazkp

It pays to be genuine. People will be disappointed on anyone that lives fake live in the long run.

And those that do like, will actually like.

Not yet.

It is likely because it is uploaded straight into the UI. Normally I use an imgur link.

....It was the 'jerry ' reference that made me think you had...

The value placed in looks is more of an unbalanced situation rather than a wrong one. There amount of stress placed on looks far outweighs the amount of focus on functionality. I always found that looks matter to a certain extent but beyond a point it is only the intrinsic value of things that can make them irreplaceable or valuable.

There is no balance to be found between the functionality and looks. Thus pretty much guaranteeing the disappointment in future and even perpetuating the cycle.

It is the looks in all things though. For example, the looks of whether a person brings value to the platform or not. Looks can be deceiving across many functions, not just the physical. In the end, it is people who support or don't but most don't do much research to work out what they are supporting.

an interesting bunker, how old is he?

skills endure while facades decay, that's a fact. We have to invest in developing our skills

One can always improve whatever you are doing. Others rely on getting away with the least work as possible and will be found out in the long run. I knew somebody who moved from job to job as a regional manager. he never achieved anything adding no value but managed to stay one step ahead of being fired. The problem is I am sure he would run out of companies at some point.
