The Ultimate Problem Solving Technique – There Is No Spoon

When we have a “problem” that we are trying to figure out it can sometimes seem like the solution is beyond our reach. The reason it feels this way is that our conditioned mind can really only go in circles in the feedback loop of what it knows. The good news is is that through practice we can learn to easily dismantle this illusory process so we can get in touch with and develop our innate capacity for wisdom.

This conglomeration of thoughts is sometimes called the ego. I usually call it the conditioned mind. Along with these thought bundles get created emotional blockages that keep the conditioning going. They feed off each other. The filtering of the conditioned mind can only deal with challenges through what it already knows and how it currently functions – and if it were functioning well it would have come up with an elegant solution! But it can't. And whatever it comes up with is usually only a temporary fix that created a new problem to be solved. Watch this clip from "The "Matrix" to get your mind ready...

Here is a simple method to dissolve these states and get rid of your problems. Sometimes it may feel difficult to do this process without a support person there so you may want to have the support of a trusted friend, therapist or counselor. Eventually with practice you may be able to do this alone when you need to.

Sit down in a comfortable position. You do not have to close your eyes unless it makes you feel more comfortable. Take any issue that is perplexing you, upsetting you or where you feel stuck. Instead of trying to solve it or figure it out just sit there and relax. Now, move your awareness into your body. Feel any sensations that are occurring in your body and locate them. Sit with this for a moment and just notice. It could feel tightness, tension, pressure in chest or other sensations. These are the emotional blockages that are attached to the problem the mind has created.

Now, ask, what is the emotion underneath the sensations. By sitting and releasing attention on the mind and dropping our awareness into the body we can begin to dissolve the emotional blocks. The way it works is kind of like the emotional blocks are like huge chunks of ice that are blocking the flow of water to a stream that feeds and nourishes a water supply necessary for the proper functioning of an ecosystem (our being).

A cloud is blocking the rays of the sun so the chunk of ice will not melt. The clouds are the thoughtform clusters. By dropping into awareness the clouds begin to part and the sun (awareness) shines and melts the ice chunk so the water (energy) can flow freely again. Once things are flowing we can then feel the awareness no longer being block by the conditioned mind. We have released the identification with how we have been perceiving a situation as real and the meaning the mind has created about it along with the stuck energy in our body/being.

Liberation

More attuned to our natural, unencumbered state we now have SPACE for real insight to arise in regards to what we previously thought was a problem and may realize:

There is no spoon. Ha ha.

There is no problem! Creative ideas emerge in the place of what used to seem like being stuck or an unsolvable issue. Emotional pain or triggers. Try it! Keep practicing until you have a breakthrough. You will be glad you did.

I think you need to practice a lot to get result using your technique. I've tried but can't go too deep into my body yet. But thanks for the motivation!

Yes, as I say, it takes practice like anything else. There are no magic bullets. I recommended reading Radiant Mind for a deeper practice. You are essentially rewiring your brain so you have to stick with it :)

Problems that you can solve, so no need to worry, just solve them.
Problems that you can't solve, so no need to worry, you can't solve them anyway.
The bottom line is no to worry, but to identify the type of problem you are facing.
