Every form of addiction is bad, no matter whether the narcotic be alcohol or morphine or idealism.
What I Get Out of Jung's Knowledge Bomb
We try very hard to stave off the addictions that are known to harm us such as Drugs, alcohol, smoking, eating and so on. But there are addictions that people have that we don't even see as addictions that are harming us as well. Addictions to social media, selfies, arguing on Twitter, and addictions to ideologies such as Liberalism, Conservatism, even addictions to hating Donald Trump.
I scroll through Twitter sometimes and I see the timelines of people that spend the whole day arguing about this and that. They hang on Trump's every word and then spill out onto Twitter to rant and rave about it. Could they stop? I doubt it. make no mistake, that's an addiction.
An addiction doesn't have to be a substance, it can also be a thought or an idea or philosophy. We should be aware of how dangerous those types of addictions can be.
