Could it be the more mentally insane the lower they will go? Perhaps they are madly trying to claim what is not theirs, thinking that climbing a social ladder would make them greater than others but to no end...?
That's a good point! I guess it depends on how you look at it. But they go UP the social ladder towards more wealth and pleasure and yadda yadda yadda, but likewise "as above so below" in a sense, part of them IS going downwards metaphorically towards immorality. Hm.. Interesting thoughts. Thanks for sharing.
