~*~ Quinn's Choice Quote of the Day: "I can't give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure-Which is: Try to please everybody." Herbert B. Swope~*~
Greetings Steemians!
I give you today's edition (#8) of powerful choice quotes from successful beings, as well as my own insights, in hopes to inspire and bring real value to your life~
Each day I choose what I feel to be not only a powerful and inspiring quote, but one that is relevant to my life and this Steemit Community. Then explore the implications of the quote in relevance to practical life.
I find that reading potent perspective like this helps to remind me of what is important and how life works. It is so easy to get caught up in life and forget such wisdom. It is also very easy to continue to live as we are used to, instead of by example from truly inspired examples.
Perspective is everything, and I find that this perspective is very valuable for this Steemit Community as everyone on here wants to make money and build a "good" reputation. There is nothing wrong with this. I hope that everyone on here earns some money and builds a reputation! Yet not only will you not be super successful by trying to be something you are not, but you will also not really enjoy it. Then what is it worth?
I see time and time again successful characters here on Steemit giving similar advice: be yourself, write about what you are interested in, and be honest. This is solid advice which makes sense and likely few would disagree with. Yet actually embodying that and living it with each article and comment is quite a different thing. It is easy to forget and get caught up in wanting to write and post what others want you to or to suck up in comments to get reputation.
Yet this has proven to not really work so well, and the ones who are really successful are the ones who are being themselves. Now of course not everyone is going to like who you are and maybe this Steemit Community is not really for everyone. I can guarantee not everyone is going to bank like $Vigilante. Yet even $Vigilante is not liked by everyone and is a great example of someone doing what they do regardless of that and succeeding.
Agree with it or not, he is making a lot of money saying and doing what he believes in and is living a pretty good life. Yet success will not come from trying to be like him, it will just be an empty repetition and will not have the influence even if it was copied word for word.
So yes it can be scary to be honest, yes it can suck when people judge or don't like you, but if you ever really want to be free and succeed in a happy life, then being yourself is the way to go~*~
You are a prime example @quinneaker of someone living by values, regardless of the thoughts, ideas and judgment of others. I truly believe that is where a lot of your power lies, as your actions are consciously chosen being true to yourself. Great quote and, of course, amazing insight. Thank you for sharing more and more and more.
