A Letter To Humanity.

I love you all. I love the smart, the dumb, the fat, the skinny, the white, the black, the liberals, the conservative, the Christians, the Muslims, and the Jews. It is time we stop pointing the finger at each other and take a deep long look in the mirror. It is time we grow up and take responsibility for ourselves.

There will always be those out there that will try to trick you into giving them your power, and they will start from the day you are born. But, the truth is you don’t take responsibility for yourself. When you delegate your responsibility to others you give them power over you. When you let others raise your children you give them the power to influence how they think and what they believe. When you park them in front of the TV and let it babysit them you give power to those creating the material they watch to influence them.

When you watch the news or read a book without verifying everything as well as using your own brain and heart to critically analyze what you absorb you are responsible for your indoctrination. When you delegate your ethical understanding to a religion or philosopher you are giving them the power to manipulate you into immoral action. When you sit around and pray for the benevolent leader to come along so you can vote your woes away you give away your power to act to fix your situation.

When you go to a doctor and blindly take the pills they give you and follow their advice you are giving away control over your health and are at their mercy. When you know more about the Kardashians or the Giants than you know about how to evaluate information presented to you and seek out the other sides of the story your ignorance is of your own doing. When you go to the store and blindly pick out your food you’re turning over responsibility for your own nourishment and giving control to the companies that produce it.

When you spend every free hour you have with your nose buried in books never taking the time to think through the world yourself you fooling yourself with the knowledge you do not have, for it is only through taking ideas and putting them to use can we truly understand what is meant. Simply parroting “fact” after "fact" in hopes of never being wrong is not knowledge or wisdom. Only through applying what you learn and taking the next step of applying them to the world you observe in a logical and intuitively consistent manner have you learned anything at all.

When you throw up your hands and accept your fate, you have given your consent for whatever happens to you and your family. Passive consent is still consent.

There has always been those ruling over us and there always will be and it must be this way because humanity is not ready to grow up and take responsibility for themselves. If you give your power away there will ALWAYS be someone there ready to take it and rule you. Joining groups is no different, you give your power over the topic to the group, and thus give the leaders of the group additional power over you and your decision making rather than taking that responsibility onto yourself. Groups will always be pitted against each other and blame each other and keep everyone divided, this removes the responsibility from the individual and gives false hope as well as a convenient scapegoat for to blame so you don’t have to look into that mirror. There will always be those in a society that are not capable of thinking for themselves in an effective manner and they must be taught the basics and the power they give away must be taken by those close to them, not groups far far away. They must not be allowed to be manipulated by the sophists and used as weapons against the rest of us. Take responsibility for your children and grandchildren, wisdom comes with age (on occasion anyway).

Until humanity learns to think, act, and come together as responsible adults there will always be those there ready to accept control over us and manipulate us for more and more control until we are nothing more than children with every need taken care of and at the complete mercy of those that we give our power to. If we take our power back by taking responsibility for our own thoughts and actions there would be no power left for those at the top to wield over us. Of course, this is much easier said than done but every journey starts with a single step.
