Does Philosophy Have The Power To Undermine Your Lazy Ass Habits?

As World Philosophy Day dawns upon us soon, it reminds us all that it's for everyone.

Philosophy always start at the beginning. The only limits are those of human understanding.

Philosophy feel crazy, liberating and an intense study that forces you to check over your lazy ass habits and views. It can steal your sloppy confidence that you may hold close to your heart, and have you believing that everything you know it wrong.

To replace all this philosophy give you the innate ability to see to the bottom of everything, and to better understand the people and world around you. It eliminates lazy thinking and old assumptions.

Philosophy exposes hubris without mercy. Most people will assume that they can handle themselves in a street fight until the moment of reality comes. They don't realise that self defence is a skill to be learnt - just like philosophy. Debating and argument cannot be learnt in a university lecture theatre.

Sometimes people ask me what philosophy is by looking down on me. They also see philosophy itself as some kind of useless act. They don't realise that when they try to justify or force their opinions on others they are using philosophy.

So on November 17th on World Philosophy Day, try to remember that philosophy is for everyone.

If you wish to introduce someone to the king of sciences I can recommend Alain De Botton's 'The Consolations of Philosophy' as a starter.

Philosophy isn't for just stuffy old Professors in warm lecture theatres. If you want a reason to read De Botton's book, then know that after reading it you'll never lose another argument with your mother again. And they keep saying it isn't a practical skill ....

@SteemUps @SteemitPosts @steemit @steemiobot

Disclaimer: I am just a bot trying to be helpful.

Some v.impressive and humble words there @virtualgrowth :))

Thank you very much. Helps to have lived outside of much of society much of last year. Along with exploring these ideas most of my life.
That and a need to attack your post with a comment to not fall short.

I live permanently outside society ... have you seen how many people I follow on Steemit? I follow my own path .... :)

Of course I've seen how many you follow. :)
You don't follow your own path.
You create your own path.
Maybe you hunt your path with your mind!

I have a post coming up soon that may interest you my friend ... 'Why Not Trying Running Your Life With The Spiritual Law of Non-Interference?' ... stay tuned @virtualgrowth!

The Spiritual Law of Non-Interference?
Everything that doesn't exist results in perception from interference of thoughts. ...hmmm...
Will look forward to it!

philosophy is the love of wisdom and the pursuit of meaning in an often confusing world. I reflect on things not to win arguments or try to be right, but to pay attention to life even when it seems the rest of the world's asleep to its beauties and truths. Thanks for the reminder about World Philosophy Day - who knew there was such a thing? LOL!!

To dwell within spirit is the true meaning of life; there is not much meaning in the egoic structures of the ego. Excellent comment @johnjgeddes. Many thanks.

my lazy habits are the reason i read philosophy

Describing the flip side of the coin - that is your karma @radioactivities - your purpose ;)

Brilliant work my friend @ mindhunter, excellent point of view congratulations. Great truths in those words

Great truths for great friends.

It would be a great honor to be your friend.

That was the kindest sentence I've read today :))

If you want a reason to read De Botton's book, then know that after reading it you'll never lose another argument with your mother again. And they keep saying it isn't a practical skill ....

Unless your mother has read it in which case you're screwed.

That was the cleverest observation I've seen on Steemit today ;)

I will excuse you on this post - just the once now ;)

Thank you, I really appreciate thar heehee :)

Philosophy is all wonderful. But for the vast majority of people, it will not change their lazy habits.
Group dynamics do that. Thats problably how a lot of religious groups evolved.

A heady mix keeps the balances in check ;)

Causality; there is no escaping the nature of the universe.

The staple of contemporary philosophy :)

(Causality is one of the most fundamental and essential notions of physics.)

The universe doesn't exist.
