CRITICAL PHILOSOPHY: Which Is The Truer Statement? Everything Is Beautiful In Its Own Way Or Everything Is Not Beautiful In Its Own way?steemCreated with Sketch.

Which statement is in accordance with reality in your personal opinion? Why so?

@mindhunter says:

Everything is not beautiful, evil is real. There are cultures that promote oppression, fear, hatred and perversion vs. those that promote virtue, freedom and godliness. Not all cultures or lifestyles are equal, "a bone through the nose is not equal to putting a man on the moon" and there's usually a reason that some cultures remain backward.

Third world countries are so poor not because they're under the boot of a colonial master but because their culture promotes the wrong values. Bribery and violence are rampant and sexual promiscuity destroys the family structure.

More often than not these countries were better off as European colonies as they benefited from the virtues of the Christian West.

There's too much in there for a straight answer: better, European, colonies, virtues, Christian.

It greatly differs from country to country. Sometimes functioning cultures, sometimes backward and aggressive ones, influenced by Western humiliation or law and organisation, sometimes armed by the West, then left to their own devices, is a sufficiently vague answer 8-).

Congratulations @ocrdu :) There is no right straight answer here like you say - there are just too many variables ... but it's certainly a fun question to ask ;)

I don't actually believe either of those statements is more true than the other. To state one is more true than another would be basing it upon bias, and anecdotal experience. So I guess it depends upon whether you believe TRUTH actually cares about opinions or not.

They are basically the same statement mainly mapped to perspective of the observer. Are they positive/optimistic, or negative/pessimistic?

I personally do tend to look for the silver lining in most things. This means that from a personal standing I believe there is beauty and purpose to everything. Yet, that is based upon my own bias.

That was a very clever first sentence @dwinblood, as that is the closest answer we can truly find. Steem on my silver lined friend. I do look forward to reading more of your own psychology posts soon :)

Once I have some inspiration to write something philosophical I surely will. My creations are like mind worms. If I don't give them life and free them from my mind they natter and bug me incessantly.

I doubt I'll do it as often as I was now that I am past the barrier that has been stalling my game development, but it will still happen. I cannot predict when. Likely when the news, debating in chat, or reading something written by someone like yourself spawns a new mind worm. ;)

Delve deeper into critical thinking philosophy and whole cans of mind worms will appear ;)
