Any Rand emphasised this. It's one reason she wrote about the need for philosophy.
I also like how Stefan Molyneux has more recently emphasised that most people make decisions based on emotion, with much relying much at all on either facts or principles. That agrees perfectly with the findings of experimental psychologist Daniel Kahneman.
Most people do indeed, that's why the pleasure-trap has us go awry as we are unconsciously driven to pleasure instead of consciously driving ourselves to more practical and evolving purposes. Much of social conversation is geared towards making people feel good about something in order for them to accept it lol. Emotions rule most indeed. Don't talk about the unpleasant things... lol.
