i think that would depend on the individual, we are all programed from birth by, culture, religion, social norms, society, parents, friends, family etc. and each of those (and many more) are international as well... there are many variables to consider and some which we will not be aware of also.
but if we are to test ourselves we must first knowledge the error and bias in ourselves and not look to the external for means of nullifying our feelings of cognitive dissonance.
It is the understanding the we are NOT self aware and never will be, but that we are constantly becoming "more" self aware as we learn and grow, we can choose to the speed of this as we seek self congruence and true autonomy. but it all begins with self reflection and acceptance of the self.... flaws and all.
