Hope is Forged in Fire
Honor, art, glory, beauty, courage, and freedom.
And of course, truth.
Do not forget what we live for. What we need to not just survive, but thrive. Do not fall for propaganda, or be deluded by mere hatred or greed in this strange era.
War, plague, famines, disaster, and poverty are not sources of wisdom. I would recommend enriching yourself by the means of producing art and useful things, and enjoying the existence of the stars, the Earth, and each other. There is far more to enjoy in life than there is to suffer by. Thus we must persevere. We must be optimistic, to such a point of foolishness, that we become wise.
We must have hope.
But I wonder if others agree.
I agree. War might be some source of some wisdom, but it's not a Good source of wisdom. We can do better if we're at peace, constructively cooperating rather than destructively competing.
