Perfection is Death
Perfectionism is met everywhere, from Apple CEO’s, you know who I’m talking about, to even kids in middle school fighting for the higher grades, trying to be perfect so their parents can reward them for memorizing useless shit that is most certainly out of date and they will never use it.
Look, perfectionism can be destructive a lot of the times because you might get burned out, but also it can be helpful sometimes because out of the wish of becoming perfect, which is not the best wish, you can push yourself and get motivated to accomplish stuff that you desire. It can lead to some excellent accomplishments and rewards, but it can also blow you up.
Perfectionism is both good and bad, depending on what viewpoint you are watching it from but the issue is that perfection itself is cancer. There are two big reasons why you shouldn’t pursue perfection.
Constant movement, going up and down the ladder of life means life itself. Work in progress is life since you are in constant movement you are not the same as you were yesterday. If you keep on improving yourself, learning and experimenting new things, moving, not being stagnant, then you are living. Movement is life.

No movement, being stagnant, the same as yesterday means death. And I don’t say that you have to make tremendous changes in your life every day so it’s not the same, the simple fact that you are alive means constant change. So if you are not alive, there are no more changes happening, and I don’t refer to the physical body since that is not you because you are something more significant.
What I mean by perfection is death is that if you become perfect, there is no way to change anymore. You are perfect, at the top, there is no room for improvement since there’s nothing better than this thus you can’t change. If you can’t change, you stay stagnant which means that you are dead. Maybe the only way to achieve perfection is through death, but we can’t share those experiences with the living ones.
As I said above, maybe the only way to achieve perfection is through death since perfection itself is death so attaining it while you’re still alive is impossible. Because it’s impossible, setting a goal to become perfect will only get you frustrated because if after endless tries you don’t achieve your goal there’s no way you don’t get mad.
If you want a better goal, try to become the best version of yourself, push your boundaries and keep on going despite any feelings that you should stop. To give you an example, today I tried to work for a future project on Steem with @thethirdeye and @buzlealex, and it was more or less a failure. We got to learn a few things from our mistakes, but we did not achieve what we wanted today.
After I got home, I was tired, and all I wanted to do was chill out. I had to finish some stuff for @OCD, so my time got even lesser. I usually post at around 7-8pm, but today I only finished work at that time. I still had no article, I passed my deadline, and I was tired. But I decided to push myself out of that state and keep on going despite the wish of stopping so I wrote this article.
I went a bit off the subject here but what I’m trying to say is that perfection is an illusion and you should focus on doing as much as you can. Become better and do even more.
Perfection is boring, and no one should wish for anything like it.
P.S: Referring to THIS article from yesterday, the situation is solved, and I got my money back. As a matter of fact, I got even more with around $50, maybe because ETH raised in value since yesterday, not sure. It’s all good now, but it was a nice scare.

If perfection is death and perfection is unreachable, does that make us all immortal?
Depending on what immortality you refer to. If it's a physical one that is probably not possible but a spiritual one, well, I have no idea since my body is still alive.
Lol. As I was reading your post I wanted to add that the perfection is impossible to reach and that the best thing to do is to try to become our best version, but you sad that too, so I'll just add this:
"Letting go of perfection is where the perfection begins".
I'm new to Steemit, I'm also going to write about life and society philosophy and I'm looking forward to our discussions. Cheers!
Haha, such an awesome coincidence, bright minds think the same. Sure, see you around. ;)
Good for you for having your money back!
About perfection, I believe our long term goal as the human race should be to always look out for greatness and achieve the highest development possible, we are doing it now thanks to exponential technology innovations. For example, people from 100 years ago would have been amazed if they look at technology at the current state, imagine what technology would look like in 2117...
I believe our long term goal is to reach a level of development so huge we could be considered Gods from today’s standars. And I believe it’s possible to do this. Centuries from now.
So instead of death, maybe immortality is the true perfection.
With time, the world will evolve so much that we will not recognize it anymore and I am not sure if that is good or bad.
If you mean the immortality of the body, trust me, you don't want that. Death is the greatest gift the gods ever gave us, is something I always used to say because if people don't have the possibility of losing something, they will not value it thus they will do endless years or shit they hate because it is normal. :D
One of my favorite philosophers, Ayn Rand said the same thing about death, that it makes us value life much more.
Although I still think about the possibility of reaching immortality through technological means using sintetic bodies is super exciting. I believe we are heading there.
Excellent post! As I kept reading I agreed with every paragraph even more. The thing about perfection is very important in nowadays world. Nearly everyone is trying to present their perfection and burns out by this. Of course doing nothing is no good too, as you said, but:
I will try to stick to these words :D
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed this post that much. :D
It is sad because people are trying to impress people they hate just to gain social validation. Let them see my imperfections because as to quote someone great Frankly my dear I do not give a dam, if they don't wanna be around, even better.
