Funny how we tend to play these little games.
We spend our lives pursuing a piece of paper,
To get even more pieces of paper.
We pretend that we are doing what we want to,
To appease the delights of others.
We pretend we are something we are not,
To win others around us and not feel alone.
We pretend to do something meaningful,
When in the end it is nothing but ashes and dust.
We spend our lives lying to ourselves,
In hopes of turning our lies into the truth.
We pretend to be so much more,
When we are but just animals.
