Are You The Universe Experiencing Itself?🌎 [ philosophy n°1 ]
Are We Simply The Vessels For The Universe To Experience Itself?
Is The Universe Conscious?
I had this thought about if we are purely the universe experiencing itself, that it is possible that the universe functioned in a way which leads to consciousness so that it could be aware of itself, through us.
Maybe us as humans are the vessels needed for the universe to become aware of its own existence. As we begin to increase our knowledge about the universe, the more knowledge the universe has about the universe because we are a part of it and we are simply the vessel used for this knowledge to be gained if not then would the universe even exist.
It is like that scenario where you if in a random forest a tree falls down and no one is there to hear it, does it actually exist?
We Represent The Universe
I believe that we are just a part of this vast universe so, in a sense, we do represent the Universe; just as your hand is a part of you and represents you, at least in part. We are the ones create it and showcase its proof of existence.
Moreover, if we were to say the Universe isn't conscious takes a very narrow view of that which it means to be conscious. I feel that consciousness means communication, and, yes, things communicate at the sub-atomic and molecular levels; protons attract neutrons, and individual elements form bonds to create complex molecular structures and organism and that we always have this sort of communication going on which you may deem as being conscious or not.
However, communication can mean multiple things such as sharing, imparting, or exchanging of information; and, yes, all things do this. There are non-human acts of communication among cellular and chemical properties. Our lives affect our environments and vice versa, and we are regularly 'communicating' with everything around us.
Maybe The Universe Isn't 'Conscious'?
People can also define communication as the transfer of ideas from one thinking entity to another which would mean non-thinking things (elements, molecules) don't do this.
Communication to justify consciousness, in this case, would be used in the sense of the transmission of ideas between beings.
Something can have a level of consciousness without ever communicating to its surrounding as consciousness purely has an understanding.
The world that we live in has its effects on me, allows me to garner ideas from it. The world transmits stimuli to me, and I give a reaction, but It doesn't transmit Ideas to me.
