I like the razor method, it seems like a sensible method.
In relation to objective reality, I would say we are indeed living inside a simulation, namely the human interpretation of things. If you want an awesome simulator, look no further than the brain.
As primitive as it is, for now, it is the only assurance we have of our reality :)
