blockchain is a form of tradition

in #philosophy8 years ago (edited)

grammatically 'tradition' is the passive, perfect form of 'tradere', used as a reflexive participle.

some definitions:

tradition derives from latin
'trans' means across, over
'dare' means to give
transdare means to give something over
transdare is simplified to:
tradere.
tradere later ended up in english ('trade')

The way I understand blockchain, it's a form of tradition.
You have to translate/transcribe* the old blocks, before you can create new ones.
That's a form of preservation.**

#blockchain has a philosophical dimension.

I can elaborate, if somebody likes this.
*translate will be defined next
**then preservare
