Interesting ideas and I can't say I disagree with your conclusions. But ... if we are morally obligated to help someone who is about to walk over a cliff, are we morally obligated to stop alcoholics from drinking, smokers from smoking, someone returning to an abusive relationship, someone who sincerely wants to end his life (for whatever reason, he gets to be the judge!) from committing suicide? IMO, those kinds of questions come into the mix, too.
