The human mind goes to great lengths to resist the idea of indifference—to vanquish the thought that its surroundings—its environment—are indifferent to its presence and its greater existence. Complex, outlandish, and delusional explanations for the inarguable significance of the human mind and its symbiotic relationship to its environment and circumstances are fabricated and emotionally/spiritually adopted by the mind as a means of ascribing meaning and import to the human experience.

But, these fabrications and explanations lead to great conflict—both inward and outward. Conflict arising from adopted beliefs that are discordant with each other, and the conflict of the soul that comes from feeling and experiencing information that challenges the doctrine that the self wishes to believe.
