In a sense, yes. But it's not doing something more than his own Creator. Is doing something Less than his Creator.
God, in his infinite Mercy gave to use the ability to devour/forget anything and everything that we no longer wish to have within our experience. If we create something which at one point we don't enjoy anymore, we can forget, we can let go of it. But God cannot do that, anything and everything that was ever and will ever be created is withing God. God cannot subtract from Himself. We can.
Free will is supposed to be a good thing, that is why in theory God gave us free will. And if God himself does not have the free will to lie, so we the creatures have more power and freedom than the creator himself.
There is no such thing as a LIE from God's point of view.
There are States of Being within Existence. Nothing more, nothing less.
Consciousness choosing to inhabit whatever State it Focuses it's Attention upon. Nothing more, nothing less.
