We actually had the wonderful experience of meeting Ram Dass years ago. There is also a documentary we watched on Netflix about Ram Dass, as he is today.
A friend also traveled to meet him last year and spend some time in retreat. Beautiful soul.
Must have been awesome to get to talk to him in person.
Yes, and years before in my husband's hitchhiking years, back when it was safe, he met him while hitchhiking. My husband was hitchhiking. :) Hope that makes sense .. anyway lovely to see your post.
In terms of pure charisma and passion, I think he beats Watts any day of the week. There is such a joy in his words, that one can't help smile after listening to him speak. If you haven't read his landmark book "Be Here Now", I fully recommend it. They released an updated version of it a few years ago.
I tend to agree, Dass is one of my favorites for sure, I try not to compare them as it just takes me to an unproductive place. I think Watts is really good at "break through" delivery and his lectures help a lot of people, but I think when you're ready to really start diving deep Dass can blow some minds. I guess I just like them both for different reasons.
Ram Dass's approaches seem interesting. Especially what has to do with the importance of being present in the life of the other in the relationship of a couple. Thanks for sharing.
It's interesting, but I tend to view most of my connections in a similar way now. Obviously some are deeper than others, but it's definitely a great perspective. Thanks for checking it out!
