The Value of Philosophy, which is the 15th chapter of Bertrand Russell's The Problems of Philosophy, is a mind-blowing read that will make you further ponder on the subject, leaving you wanting to know more; especially if you're a student who just newly took up the subject. It will make you wonder whether if the book was really written in 1912 because it still pretty much sums up the idea of Philosophy these days. Despite of Bertrand Russell being an Atheist and me disagreeing with his logic about Christianity, I do agree on his statements on Philosophy and it's value not only to society but also to humanity.

Many set aside Philosophy as a reject course and subject, paying more attention to Sciences and Mathematics without having any idea that Philosophy is perhaps the one who made it possible for the now renowned king and queen of knowledge and learning to join the club of royalty courses; in which Bertrand Russell helps us realize here in this chapter those remarkably ignored hypotheses or dogmas.

Bertrand Russell's words of wisdom, like when he said that the value of Philosophy appears in it's very uncertainty which is bittersweet in a sense that Philosophy still has many great contributions although it offers answers that aren’t definite, is what made not only the chapter but also the book a gem, a diamond forged despite of the pressure provided by Bertrand Russell's Philosophic critics.
