PATRON SAINT OF THE DAY: For Catholic Schools

The 4th of January is the feast of the first American born saint, Elizabeth Ann Seton.

Born in 1774, Elizabeth married in 1794 and had 5 children. She was widowed in 1803 and converted to Catholicism shortly afterward.

She went on to found the Sisters of Charity and created the parochial school system in the US.
