Most people do not want to do their current job. They want to pursue a passion of theirs, but they can't. Why not? When we were younger, we dreamed big and weren't scared of the consequences. Now that we are adults, many are just stumbling by, doing something that they would rather not do, something they have no zeal for.

Many are just doing what pays bills. You know you could be doing something better. You want to do something better. Why aren't you? Why did we stop pursuing ambitions now that we are older? Surely that our happiness is far superior to just paying bills, right?

Here are some of the reasons we are stuck doing the same old jobs, that we don't even want to do.

Failure

Everybody has ambitions, but what if we cannot reach those end goals. We have these big ideas in our minds, and then some things go wrong. What next? Do we just give up? Do we go back to our old jobs? If we do not succeed in the field we want, we are setback financially, and it is a waste of time. Some may think we should stick to what we have in fear of failure.

Not Being Employed

We may not be employed in the field we want. We may aspire to be in a certain field, but may not be good enough to work anywhere. Even worse, when we try to reapply for our old jobs, we may get turned down. They do not want someone who has no passion for the work they do, what if we don't get re-employed?

Laziness

Laziness is something that plagues our generation. You may just procrastinate and say, "I will do it tomorrow," but you never do. We had these big ideas when we were back studying in school, and we told ourselves we would put these plans into action when we leave school, but time flies by. We are too lazy.

Uncertainty

We may not know what field we want to be in the first place. We know we are not happy with our current job, but we do not know what will make us happy. What if we blindly run into a job that we believe we will like and then realise that we do not have the passion for that job after all? We will be back at square one, not knowing where to go. WIthout this initial knowledge of what we want, we are hopeless.

We have all these doubts, but I say, just take those risks. Follow your dreams.
