Here Is Why We May Never Experience Time Travellers⏰
There is one thing that many of us have pondered on before, the reality of time travel. Some say it will never happen and is just an impossible imagination, but others truly believe we will be able to travel time in the future. I will give you my thoughts on time travel.
The Grandfather Paradox
In this scenario, let's imagine that you despise your grandfather. Maybe it was that he treated you badly when you were younger or some other reason, but you hate him. You conspire to murder him.
Let's also imagine that time travel is real; we can travel back and forth in time whenever we like. If you travel back in time to when your grandfather was much younger and shot him, he will die, and therefore he could not torment you when you were born, right? However, that means your grandfather wouldn't meet your grandmother. Hence your mother wouldn't be born. This means you wouldn't be born either.
Be that as it may, you see its impossible for you to execute your grandfather before he fathers your mother since your existence requires that he survive the shooting which would imply that an endeavour to murder him would be worthless.
The Loop
The loop seen in this incident is:
- You murder your grandfather
- Hence you are not born
- You weren't born, so your grandfather couldn't have been killed
- Therefore, your grandfather is still alive, and you were born
Then, this loops back to point one.
My Thoughts
I believe that you are altering your future by killing your grandfather. You have grown up in a life with your grandfather, but if you kill him, the timeline of the Universe will be altered. A new future is created in which your grandfather is dead, intern your mother isn't born, and neither are you.
If you think about it differently, you have travelled back in time. However, the past is now your present. Therefore, you have created a new present in which your grandfather is dead.
This implies that the future is what used to be your present, but now that you have created this new present, the future is also altered. This means another timeline in the Universe is created and that the future is different to the present you remember. This seems very complicated when trying to explain it in words haha.
Why We Might Not Be Able To Meet Time Travellers
If we do somehow find a way to time travel, as I said the time traveller would alter the present and create a new timeline. This would also mean this separate timeline would exist and no longer be our timeline. A new timeline is created, and this alters the state of the future.
Some may say that we can meet time travellers if they do not do something like killing their grandfather. If they do not change the past, surely we can meet them, right? No, the fact that they are there in the past creates a new timeline as they were not there before, altering the future in a minimal way.
This topic is very difficult to understand, but very interesting and exciting at the same time. Mankind will always be interested in the unknown.
You should study the theory of relativity by Einstein. Your doubts will be cleared.
