An Idealistic View Of Love

If we look through love through the amazing perspective of Romanticism, we will find out that we should love every aspect of our true love. You must accept everything about someone to regard them as your true love. You should not have thoughts of majorly changing your partner; they should be perfect in your eyes.

This idea of love may be quite outdated. I will tell you. Clearly, Romanticism has been a disaster in the field of love.

According to Wikipedia, Romanticism is:

a movement in the arts and literature which originated in the late 18th century, emphasizing inspiration, subjectivity, and the primacy of the individual.

The salvation of love falls in defeating a series of errors in Romanticism.

A Burden On Current Relationships

The most important cultural voices that we possess have, to our detrimental loss, set us up with inaccurate and bad expectations. They have accentuated feelings which do not tell us much that is useful about the way to make relationships work. While doing this, it also draws attention away from the other constructive guidance we need in a relationship.

We deserve sympathy. We are surrounded by a culture which provides us with seemingly good things, but a fatally inclined ideal of how relationships may work. We are trying to use the unhelpful information to do a very difficult task.

It is very important to question the beliefs of the Romanticist perspective - not to destroy love, but to avoid wasting it.

Freeing Ourselves From Impractical Views

We look at the past and form our own beliefs on what makes a relationship last. We should not look at this utopian point of view like Romanticism but instead look to all parts of history. We may take small parts from Romanticism, but then add all the negatives and guidance we need to steer the relationship to this ideal state.

The idea of looking forward from Romanticism shouldn't give fear of disbelief. We shouldn't think that I have abandoned hope in every relationship ever succeeding. The Post-Romantic perspective is equally as daring concerning good relationships. However, it is a totally different sense of the way to honour the hopes.
