Central Ideas in the Stonewall Era of Gay & Lesbian Liberation, Urvashi Vaid PRINCIPLE #3
Principle 3:
Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals...are seen as an integral part of the Demand for Social Change, becoming the tie that binds Race, Gender, and Economics.

Stonewall, in the "Stonewall Era", refers to the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village New York.
On June 27, 1969, police raided the Stonewall Inn where it was the first time gays and lesbians had fought back against the police harassment of the time. By fighting back, and with the support of the stonewall Inn neighborhood, things began to change. Urvashi Vaid demonstrates the psychological process in his four central ideas of the Stonewall Era.
