This relative economics wherein your gifts (or disgifts, not a word but hopefully understandable) are amplified in relative terms. It's when we start comparing when we find more/less value to what we possess. It's going to be working on both direction, but that's how it works. And sometimes, even if we say "we should not compare", it's difficult because we live in a world full of comparisons.
