We often overlook the importance of music in our lives. The structures of sound and pattern are so interwoven with our consciousness that we simply breeze past them without bothering to fully investigate or appreciate their significance. This discussion provides an opportunity to reflect on what music is and what functions it serves. We typically don’t ask these questions on a regular basis, but upon further examination they prove to be immensely valuable and inextricably intertwined with several of the most important aspects of our existence.

Join us as we investigate the heart of music and it’s overall impact from physics to sociology. Why is music among the most primordial aspects of human culture? Why do we gravitate towards certain types of music? How can we better understand and esteem its value? What impact could a broader and deeper perspective of music have? Is life truly a symphony?
