The Pain Body !!!
As everything in universe is energy, our emotions are no exception. Nicola Tesla once said “If You Want to Know the Secrets of the Universe, Think in Terms of Energy, Frequency and Vibration”.
When it comes to overreacting, exaggeration of pain, paranoia and drama I have never found an explanation that is clearer and more straightforward than Echart Tolle’s concept of Pain Body. Though it is not packed by science, it makes much sense in understanding human’s psychology of pain.
According to Tolle, The Pain Body is the accumulation of residual energies of past negative experiences. The pain body is trapped in our bodies and feeds on more pain. As energy, it vibrates with other energies of the same frequency.
Every unresolved painful situation that hasn’t been handled properly, accepted, let go of, or forgiven about adds up to the pain body. The pain body is usually dormant until triggered by a new painful experience. When activated it dominates the mind which takes the rabbit hole of negative thinking and brings about more painful memories and negative thoughts, it creates extra pain for the pain body to feed on.

At certain situations we feel that someone overreacts while his reaction is more of a response to the activated pain body than the situation we perceive as less or not painful.
For some people, their pain body is always active they unconsciously create more pain in their lives by doubting others intentions as they literally understand others’ behaviours through only the worst possible explanations. others keep reframing their life’s situations in such a way that causes them more suffering.
If you are a believer in The Law of Attraction I bet pain body would be of utmost interest to you, as it would attract more and more pain and manifest negative experiences in person’s life.
As there is individual’s pain body, there is nation’s pain body. Some nations -due to past suffering- have acquired collective pain body that affects the whole society and makes them very susceptible to certain situations and concepts.
For the pain body to be activated it is essential for the person to be unaware of it and how it works. Once you become consciously aware of it, the pain body becomes less of control over you. With gently watching it being activated it would be clear that the pain you feel is not entirely about the current situation you experience rather a part of you that is always uncomfortable. With keeping watching it as it arise it loses its energy giving more room for clear mind to handle the issues rationally and a gap of relief is felt within despite the existence of the original pain.
