RE: Will the real Anarchist please stand up?
I think your post is fantastic. Simple, informing without making it too much work on the average reader, and truthful (being the most important of course).
It's sad that even as simple as you've put it here, people are still so indoctrinated that most likely not a single word of your post was either:
- read
- understood (that's reading comprehension, folks)
- oh, and there's always the whole "government is so good at their real job" that nowadays even the mention of the A-word gets you randomly threatened.
With what? I don't know! I've had it happen to me too! IE: You shouldn't go around posting you own guns (grew up in the country and my job was to shoot snakes in the chicken pen)/telling people your an anarchist/insert whatever else label the Gubm't has deemed negative and spent years brainwashing the masses to fear?
There are unlimited examples to place here, but WHAT exactly are they trying to say? Do you think that any of them do it out of actual concern for your/anyone else's life so much that they risk infringing on one of the most valuable rights they get so butthurt about themselves = (ahem) Freedom of Speech (and not just if you agree!)
Or do they really think we don't know what we're getting into but they for some unearthly, magical, unicorns came and shit in their ears so, even though they can't comprehend the basic principles of an ideology, they damn sure know more about it than anyone else!
I suppose there could be a lot of reasons really, but I've always been mighty curious about that. I digress. :)
This Anarchist is definitely standing up. Has been, will be, pry the gun from my cold dead fingers State, although I hope it never comes to that as I'm an Agorist, Voluntaryist, and know that the NAP is the most essential and basic thing to understand and adhere to if we were to actually bring about a war-less peace-loving world/nation/community/you get the idea.
Too many Neoliberals, @panagiotatos ? First, heh, I've only been on Steemit for a couple days but I'm no stranger to any social media or the tech industry in general, nor the silly hyphens and labels either. Do you even know what a Neoliberal is? This isn't their home, I can tell you that already. I know where that is.
According to @cayars ...
an·ar·chy
noun
a state of disorder due to absence or nonrecognition of authority. So when you describe yourself as an anarchist you are saying you do
not recognize existing authority. This is exactly the problem with the hateful part of Antifa and BLM
because they don't recognize existing authority. They loot, attack
police, destroy property, kill (5 police in Dallas), etc because they
feel they are above current law. It's the violent extension of the SJW
right now who also think they can control what others say or do
because it must be acceptable to them.
Blockquote
Whew! I don't even know where to start here honestly. There is so much misinformation, deliberate and non, ignorance of some pretty basic rules I think I learned in middle school, such as generalizations, and a plethora of other things that shall not be named now, because I'm not here to start picking on people no matter what they believe or do not. Nor do I feel the need to correct every single thing that comes out of someone else's mouth regardless of wether I believe I'm right or not.
(Oh, I will address a couple of the wrong/misconstrued/rhetoric issues in the quotes. If you're getting definitions from the internet.... don't. I have personally watched Dictionary.com and Merriam Webster's completely change entire definitions within a span of 3-4 years for certain words and yep! Anarchy is one of them. Do yourself a huge favor and get yourself an honest to goodness paper or hardback dictionary, thesaurus, things of that nature. You'll thank me later, trust me. Sorry, couldn't help throw in a little 451 reference where fitting lol.)
The second and last I'll touch on: most Anti-fa are themselves the very portrayal of fascism and there may be a small minority of misguided anarchists amongst their members but I assure you real anarchists have no desire to destroy other peoples or their own property, hurt others, go to jail, force their opinions as gospel on everyone else, et cetera ... et cetera ... et cetera ...
I've been so tired of that entire mess ever since it began. Notice who calls attention to them and labels them Anarchists and throws it all on a loop to ignite US angst? You know of course Bill, but this is mainly for anyone who happens to come across it and maybe, just maaayybeee, is a little more open-minded than your average American bipedals.
Drumroll. Media. Next.
That doesn't even need an explanation like it did in the old days. Heck, everyone thinks everything is either fake news or everything is worth its weight in gold for every character written and stacked upon each other like alphabet soup made just for their viewers/listeners/etc, because hey, point in case, they know just how they like it!
My, how times have changed. That was a clever one, Gubm't. Gotta hand it to you. When you see people start questioning things, what do you do? Why, back them up, of course! Tell them they are right and steer them off in the direction with the rest of the sheep again. It's worked for so long, why stop now right? So see, not even so clever. People just fall for it over and over and over without learning.
I truly wish people realized how much power they actually hold individually and don't even realize it, nor will they even listen when someone tries to enlighten them. I have nothing but pity for the ignorant. (the government, on the other hand, well, they might be bumbling idiots but they certainly aren't ignorant).
I think I need to get back to writing and blogging regularly. I wrote a novel on your post Bill, but I want you to know that I love it. The simpler it is, the easier to understand, the harder for the government to find those one or two division factors and see it all topple over and over again.
Being a radical, I subscribe to the no-orderism philosophy and don't believe that ANYONE needs to be given their freedoms back in increments. I won't even bring up the whole "what if the slaves were...." argument. Been round and round it so many times.
However, as long you, me, or anyone who truly wants to be free and allow others too, as well, keep chip-chip-chipping away a bit at a time, like slow-moving water currents we'll shape the stones, riverbed, and sandbanks of the future. Just keep on passing it on. My son already is and he's just turning 21 next month, haha. :)
Well, haven't even posted an intro yet and I've already written over 1200 words on just this comment! Back to work for me and then this weekend start getting familiarized, up, and going here and elsewhere. I'm so glad to be taking a huge amount of unnecessary stress off my shoulders just by moving further from Facebook and the other SM norms.
