Ramadan - 10 Nights of Power
Today I took some time to tell everyone about the 10 powerful nights of Ramadan(month of fasting).

Fasting during Ramadan not only cleanses our body but also our soul.
Ramadan is the month in which the holy book was revealed.
Word 'Ramadan' is actually derived from Arabic word 'Ramida' which means scorching heat or dryness(due to fasting).
- Crescent new moon marks the beginning of Ramadan.
During Ramadan :
Taking food before dawn is called as Sahoor and food after sunset is called as Iftar.

We break fast with dates or water.
Fasting is done from dawn to sunset during which people refrain themselves from food ,drinks or any other worldly desires to teach self-control, self-discipline and to help those in need.
During Ramadan people involve themselves in increased offering of prayers, charity(Zakat)etc.,
10 POWERFUL NIGHTS DURING RAMADAN

One of the last 10 nights of Ramadan are considered as Laylat - ul - qadr(Night of Power).
This one night, worship is considered better than 1000 months(83 years) of worship. The night in which people(creation) can talk to the one(creator) who created them is obviously the best night.
People fast during day and observe prayer, recitation of holy verses and remembering God during night.
During these nights, it is believed that mercy of God is more, our sins are forgiven and all our supplications are accepted hence called the most powerful nights.
- End of Ramadan is marked by seeing crescent new moon of next month.

It is usually completion of 30 days of fasting.Ramadan is ended by celebrating Eid - ul -Fitr (festival).
One of the perks of the festival is that during Iftar we have a lot of Samosas!!!
