Is Internet The New God

Whenever we have an argument about the existence of god, god is characterized as Omnipresence, Omniscience, Providence, etc. being and tells us that in order to believe in such kind of god we need to take Kierkegaardian leap of faith.

And in the modern world humans have created internet which fulfills almost all of the above characteristics of god about being Omnipresence, Omniscience, Providence, etc.However, apart from these characteristics, theist believe in working of god that somehow he can alter our reality and help the one who is praying to him(god). Directly or indirectly god works in a mysterious way to help the person in need and pain. This touch of reality is what internet lacks from being god. One of the main reason people tend to stick with God is the comfort it brings them. People believe that god will keep them safe, resolve there life issues and even after death take them to a place with no sufferings and pain unlike earth. So the internet being everywhere, always on, and all knowing can not compete with today's god. Unless the internet gets an update and becomes a self-aware AI( which sounds like an interesting movie plot) it cannot interfere in the real life of people who is worshiping/believing on it to help them out of their misery.

Only in the future when man fills the gap between machine and the internet, making them one entity like that of Internet of Things (IoT) then this internet can have serendipity of being THE GOD.
