Proposed Bangsamoro basic law filed at lower house today
MANILA, Philippines — The proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) has been filed today, September 29, in the Lower House of Congress.
The principal author of the bill is House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.
The Bangsamoro Transition Committee is the one that drafted the proposal which they will also submit to President Rodrigo Duterte.
The BBL is among the priority bills of the Duterte administration based on the recently concluded Legislative Economic Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) meeting last September 20.
The president is expected to certify the proposed law as urgent.
Malacañang initially seeks for the passage of the bill in the House of Representatives before the year ends.
The BBL is the proposed law that seeks to create a Bangsamoro region that would replace the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). — UNTV News & Rescue
