Thoughts

We can deny the fact that accidents are bound to happen even at the most secure places or flawless machines. People tend to see it directly to the nature or causes of road accidents, but one thing that is more accurate and unbiased judgement, "most accidents are caused by defective people".

We have this human factor that remains a major block to traffic safety. Being a human, we are prone to irrational behavior. That is why for me, drivers are equipment too and thus needed to be carefully selected, maintained and being properly used to provide security to the riding public and to show off road worthiness.

3 elements in driver's assessment

  1. CONDITION - Rest is the best remedy to recharge back the driver's full performance and execution on the road. They get tired and irritable and in such states they should not be behind in any wheel.

  2. COMPETENCE - All drivers should be competent enough and must possessed all the skills and experience to prove that he/she deserves the license he/she owns. They should be well maintained by taking vehicle courses and exams.

  3. ATTITUDE - This is the most important safety feature that a driver must have. If not most of all drivers, some were irrationally aggressive, careless and abusive on the roads. If you chose the wrong driver to work on, you're just simplynm putting your life at risk.

A well-mannered driver always uses the seat belts and always reminding to his/her passengers to fasten their seat belts too. He is a considerable person on the road and to other drivers on the road. He obeys road signs or traffic signs and rules. Lastly, he drives defensively.

Traffic Safety Tips
These are just quick tips for traffic safety:

  • Obey Speed Limits
  • Be courteous
  • Be visible
  • Have a positive attitude
  • Maintain your vehicle

Applying these tips is the key to good driving habits. Be alert, cautious, and courteous to avoid accidents. Road accidents occur at different places, whether at rural or urban, no matter where you are.

Last note: Always say a prayer when you attempt to be behind at any wheels. No other protection can save you other than that but if it's your time, then be it. :)

Wow. The statistical data of road accidents are terrifying to see. And what's worse is that these accidents are really preventable.

If only people had discipline and would follow traffic rules. :(
