Typhoon Ompong's Wrath

Since yesterday, my facebook's newsfeed has been flooded with heartbreaking photos of the landslide victims in Naga City, Cebu. The place is just a few kilometers away from our home so it really bothered me a lot.
According to the authorities, the landslide was triggered by heavy rainfall. Some people believed that the cracks which occurred a few days before the unfortunate event are signals that a tragic incident is about to happen. The place of the occurrence is prone to quarrying which may be the main reason why the area is susceptible to landslides considering that a huge percent of the land is composed of limestones.
From the last update, at least 21 people are confirmed dead while 74 are still missing. The search and retrieval operation is still ongoing yet it has to be halted oftentimes especially during momentary heavy rains to prevent possible danger for the rescuers.
See how huge the destruction over the place was. I know some people underrated typhoon Ompong's wrath since it did not affect much on some places, but Ompong's rage is already considered one of the deadliest since this is not the first landslide happened during its course in PAR. We all know what happened to Baguio lately.
Let us pray for all the victims of this calamity. May they find solace in this trying times.
If you are living in mountainous areas, please be cautious with the warnings being given. Evacuate if possible.

Kawawa nman yung mga natubunan sa landslide.. Alam mo ba dito sa bacolod.. Pag sinabi na zero casualties pima aalis talaga ang mga residents sa danger zone.. Pina papuntahan talaga ng pulis... Minsan ksi matigas din ulo ng pinoy... Kung saan Pa ngkanda gulogulo na.. Dun plang aaksiyon.. Pray nlng natin yung mga biktima..

Oo nga jez eh. So far eto talaga yung pinakamalalang landslide na nangyari dito sa Cebu sa pagkakatanda ko. Kawawa talaga yung mga biktima, hanggang ngayon marami pa rin ang hindi pa nakikita
