When in the Philippines... We take the bus! [Video]
Living here in the Philippines, I have to say that it is very easy to get around. There are pedi-bikes, motorized tricycles, and what the locals in our area call Centercars. Then there are Jeepneys and taxis. And in the larger cities you can travel in style with UBER or GRAB cars.
Unless you absolutely need your own car, there is no real need to have one. Transportation here is cheap! For longer distances of course there are bus lines and airplanes (video below).
My wife and I like to do a little traveling from time to time, and now that we have learned to travel with backpacks (essentially), and rather than fly, we like to do it by bus. We get to see and experience more that way. There are a few bus lines to choose from and we have our favorites. And because of where we live, it usually requires a ferry ride also.
That was so cool to see a CR in an aircon bus. Wish I could take a ride someday with it. That was a nice video, you filmed many buses in the same spot, that's cool too. I miss riding in an ordinary bus in a long travel where you can inhale fresh air in the province or the polluted air in the city. ;)
As many times as we have paid extra for the bus with the CR, we probably only used it twice! 😏 At least it is good to know it is there just in case that last vendor's Buko Pie creeps up on you! lol 😁
It is definitely and adventure no matter what mode of transportation! “It is more fun in the Philippines!”
No truer words ever spoken! 😉
Currently we travel by motorcycle. A Kawasaki dirt bike for riding in the mountains. What an adventure to travel where there are no road signs and driving is a free for all. Dogs, people, motorcycles, wrong side of the road, diagonal, someone passing you as you pass someone else. Incredible!
I enjoy driving here... until them killer white vans and killer buses take over the road! Up until recently we had a motorcycle and a car. I got rid of the Honda Supremo 150 and now I miss driving it!
How dangerous are the buses there? In Thailand the bus safety record is horrendous. Drivers going 20 hours with no sleep, using yaba (meth) while driving, drinking while driving, speeding like they're driving a Ferrari instead of a bus, etc etc.
They must be trained here! lol
