Although I agree with some of the points stated. As a citizen, I would agree that at this age our people needs to be led by a 'strong leader'. The colonialist mentality that we have and knowing that our government is still young shows that we require a leader that would guide us with a firm hand. Of course this governance should include open forums and proper approval of our own justice systems- and not be subject to hearsays or analytical points-of-view from external sources.
On the following of God's law-word and augment in a government system I do not quite agree since it has been known that the intervention of religion has caused many tribulations and wars. For example, homosexuals should be killed for their sin. That is exactly the prescription in our Bibles in Leviticus 20:13. God's decision to kill Onan for ejaculating outside the woman... not practicing the sabbath and many more.
I would prefer a governement that is open to ammendments and not following absolute morality like God's word. The word of God condemns homosexuality and wants women to be silent. In this age, governments do not believe in slavery and promote equality for women. In this way, we are able to achieve peace. I wouldn't want governments hanging its citizens when they're just practicing safe sex, homosexuality and women voicing out opinions in churches. Just saying.
Hello, @rei. It would probably help you to read a person's comment more carefully before responding. I advocate self-government under the over-arching principles of God's word, so I am not sure why you are talking about "a government" (i.e., the state). I am against "the government," since it is an evil and oppressive entity. Free market solutions are much better than anything "the government" offers by way of monopoly.
With that said, you cannot ultimately separate God from the concept of government. He is sovereign over all things, and He judges all things. It seems you are confused about His word, however, since you do not even seem to understand it. For example, Paul's words about women being silent in the church do not mean that "God wants women to be silent." There is a certain context to Paul's words, and it cannot be ignored. Moreover, yes--God condemns homosexuality. Homosexual offenders will go to hell if they do not repent of their sin and embrace Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. However, I do not believe that it is anyone's job to criminalize voluntary interactions between human beings in the New Covenant era.
This brings me to my final point. You say you do not want governments hanging citizens for practicing "safe sex" (neither do I), but you do not seem to have a problem with governments persecuting people for putting certain substances into their own body. I say this only because you seem to affirm the current drug war. Or is Duterte (Duterterorista?) not the "strong leader" that you approve of? As a Christian libertarian, I am against drug prohibition, and I do not believe that the "firm hand" of a "strong leader" (tyrant?) is the answer to anything. I believe in freedom.
