Special Fruits found in the Philippines

in #philippines6 years ago

Good day Steemians! We had a lot of fruits given by a family friend today and I would like to share these all to you.
These are jackfruit or nangka, rambutan, lansones and banana. Commonly these fruits are found in Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries.

The first one is Jackfruit or Nangka in Cebuano.

One unique aspect of jackfruit is its unusually large size. It is the largest tree fruit in the world and can reach up to 80 pounds (35 kg) in weight.
Jackfruit health benefits includes boosting immune system, improving energy level, supporting cardiovascular system, increasing red blood cell count and preventing anemia, improving digestion, preventing colon cancer and protecting the eyes.

According to Healthwithorg.com Rambutan provides about 40 milligrams of vitamin C, which corresponds to 66% of the daily value (DV) for vitamin C. Vitamin C is perhaps best known as a dietary remedy for the common cold and flu, but it also provides a number of other health benefits. When you eat rambutans or other foods that are rich vitamin C, you increase your body's natural ability to flush out heavy metals and other toxins as well as to deal with stress. Vitamin C also promotes healthy, youthful skin by scavenging free radicals and by enhancing your body's ability to produce new collagen.

The process of eating this is by opening the body and the plum is the only one who's edible, not including the seed. The taste of it depending on the color (green or red); a bit sour and sweet.

Lanzones are also a source of B vitamins and an especially good source of riboflavin, also known as vitamin B2.
