First Chopstick Experience: Itadakimasu!

It was Saturday when I and my beloved lady spent our weekdays going to Cagayan de Oro City to process our documents with the Professional Regulation Commission. We thought that the office of the PRC was still at its old location but fortunately they have relocated already. And guess what, they relocated in Limketkai Mall. Yes their office now is in a very beautiful mall in the heart of Cagayan de Oro City.

Due to the influx of people in the PRC office it took us from 9AM to 12NN to finish our business. We are exhausted and hungry by that time so we decided to find a good place to spend our lunch together. There is this one thing that catches our attention, it was Ramen-yah. This Japanese noodle and bento restaurant seems pleasing to our eyes and we never have tried to eat in that place.

Since we are FIlipinos we though of why not trying a Japanese food using a chopstick. Philippines I think is the only southeast Asian country that doesn't use chopsticks. Why not try?

At first, we were hesitant to order food in that restaurant. We are not accustomed to Japanese cuisines. Moreover we don't want to waste money on a food we don't like and specially we really don't like wasting food also. So our solution is we asked the recommendation of the waiter as to what food is the top seller in Ramen-yah. Without hesitation, the waiter told us that it was the Bento.

So I and my lady choose the Bento hoping it will taste good and we will not ending up wasting such food. But oh my!!! Their Bento taste so good that I ended up eating all the food. It was as if I was cleaning a plate because not even a single grain of rice was left on the plate. And we use the chopstick they provided. Although there was a spoon and fork in the counter, we choose chopstick to feel what it is like to be an Asian eating with a chopstick hahaha!

Yes we did it. Hahaha! we finished our meal trying our best to use the chopstick. Eating from that restaurant is the best. I learned how to use chopstick although we never use a chopstick all our lives. It was a success. We have learn and discover a new thing. Though it was just using chopstick but the experience it gave us cannot be quantified.

Other people discriminate people eating using chopstick rather than spoon and fork. If you only knew the struggle of using those two sticks. I tell you, your stomach depends on it so you have to be patient to have a good grip and master the arts of using sticks hahahaha.

After that first time experience, we bought our own chopstick at Dasio Japan store hehehe. What you see above is my chopstick. I love that chopstick. I use it sometimes if the food is compatible with chopstick if not then I use my Filipino hands hahaha.

Enjoy Life to the Fullest! Try new things!
