Welcome to my daily photos of things in the Philippines. Things that hard to find this days and you only found it in provinces.

"PAJADPAD" - is a hat that was made of bamboo, the outer part of the bamboo that they used, they made it thiner to easy to make. There are also "pajadpad was made of "boli", and forgive me nothing to show what is "boli". The bamboo made "pajadpad" is what they always used because they said you can paint it, unlike the boli that you can't. You can see this kind of hat in fishermen, they are the one who always wears it. They said that when the rain falls in the middle of the sea your head can't be easily get wet. They used it also even in sunny weather to prevent the hotness of the sun into your eyes.
If the fishermen brought cigarettes and lighter or matches they put it under the hat to avoid of getting wet. But if you're in the sea especially in the night, dont bring lighter because it's hard to fire, your hands are wet and wind blows strong in the sea.IMG_20180803_144310.jpg

Nowadays it's hard to find this kind of hat. But if you're a fishermen you must wear this because it can prevent the hotness of the sun in your head.

Thank you for reading
