35 QCPD cops reassigned to Mindanao

MANILA - Thirty-five personnel of the Quezon City Police District have been reassigned to Mindanao, the new police unit head confirmed Wednesday.
QCPD chief Senior Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said the Philippine National Police, in an order effective July 1, instructed the 35 policemen to be transferred to different regions in the south.
Eleazar said the order did not explain if the transfer was related to the policemen's possible dabbling with the drug trade.
But the new QCPD chief said, "Tapos na po iyun. Tayong naiwan dito, we should have the moral conviction na talagang isagawa ang mandatong ipinag-utos sa atin. Hindi dapat tayo ma-demoralize with what has happened."
Members of the QCPD Anti-Illegal Drugs Division also underwent mandatory drug testing, Eleazar added.
Two former QCPD directors -- Chief Superintendents Edgardo Tinio and Joel Pagdilao -- were recently accused by President Duterte of being drug coddlers.
Chief Superintendent Bernardo Diaz, retired Chief Superintendent Vicente Loot and retired Deputy Director General Marcelo Garbo were also named by Duterte.
