Simple Pencil Sketch of Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant has been one of my favorite players ever to play in the NBA. I also love his signature shoe line from Nike, because of the quickness and stability it provides for the player. I could go on and on about Kobe but Imma start the sketch now.

All I had to use for this simple sketch was bondpaper and 0.5 mechanical pencil.

I try to draw freehand a lot and so I do the same with this as I start with the head.

Next, I continue on the upper body, drawing his shooting arm, now drawing the hand, it always goes tricky but its best to simplify it with drawing a round sketch and simply attaching the fingers.

I finish the upper body by drawing the support arm in shooting, what's good about freehand drawing is you can adjust the body proportions well to your style.

I then start on his lower back and its easy to draw this as it really doesn't need intricate shading.

Then, I draw his left leg. Its not much of a work as it is simple to follow. The pair of shoes Kobe's wearing here might be the 6s or 7s if I'm not mistaken.

I finished his lower body by drawing his right leg.

Lastly, I finish the drawing by putting his jersey number and surname. And that should be it!
