Festive, full of colors and very Filipino - that's how I describe the annual Agri Fishery Trade Fair happening right now in the grounds of Cebu Provincial Capitol along Escario Street. It is an event which promotes the love of our own products, care for our farmers and entrepreneurs as well as rekindling the old traditional ways of cooking and life in general as each provincial towns of Cebu displays their own favorite goods, merchandises, and products.

But before we talk about the goods, let us deal with how colorful, creative and very resourceful our Cebuano contingents from the different parts of the province.

Here's a booth from Toledo City!

The used colored corns into hanging banners with unripe bananas too! They got a lot of vegetables and fruits in there such as squash, beans, avocados, and eggplants just to name a few.

San Fernando and Consolacion were serious about their booth decoration. Look at those creative hats with a combination of makeshift sand walkway entrance. The green ornaments added contrast to their booth too! I like it!

The town of Alcantara also has their own sets of goods from coconut vinegar to root crops and even shells and weaved items! I also spotted some orchids! I guess avocados are in season as most booths have them on display. I also hope they'll get them sold out before they get over ripe!

Squash Pancit Canton is indeed a local product of Boljoon, they got housewives involved in the making of this commodity. Also, they got huge jackfruits in the house! The town is very well known for its vintage school house located next to the town church.

Boljoon has a special spot in my heart because that's where we got married.

I got very curious why there were so many bystanders at Bantayan Island's booth. I found out they just received their new supplies of fishes and other seafood! Of course, we Cebuanos love seafood. They got fresh fish, some clams, scallops, shrimps, and others.

These guys here were just waiting for their turn.

Dried fishes are also one of the products of Bantayan Island but I forgot to check if this booth was also for the same town, or perhaps it's for another. I just walked past it because if I stay close, my shirt and clothing will catch all those stinky smell.

Argao, the city known for its pork cracklings and lechon also offers another well-known product, their home made torta! But besides their stall is an entry from Bohol! I was surprised to see the Calamay goods!

I got really interested in this display, it states sukamod which sounds funny. It just means suka, Halang simod in Bisaya or in English it literally means Vinegar Spicy lips. It has lots of hot spices in it that it will surely make your lips hot too!

I bought one because James loves spicy condiments.

The City of Naga had also made an extra mile in terms of their booth decoration. Look at those bamboo poles! I always dreamed of having a garden with bamboos in them or make them as live fences. They sell different fruits and vegetables as well as some native compost activators. I love that they used plants as decoration but also they are all for sale too!

Pinamungajan is another contingent which had done exemplary efforts with their booth. The flowers, the town name banner, the corns and native baskets all tell. Obviously, they offer corns and gardening plants too!

I was surprised to see cranberries being sold too in the fair ad they were pretty affordable too! I have not tried taste testing it too because they look old and sad here but I was just amazed to see them. I guess they were just displayed this year, the past two years I have not seen any of it.

That's all for today! It's always fun to go to trade fairs like this. It is also a good chance for Cebuanos to buy their fruits and vegetables and try local delicacies like Pan Bisaya, Binakol, Taro Chips and others. If you are in Cebu, please please visit it, they are open from 7 AM and will be available until the 6th of August!

This looks fun sis! Nabusog ang mata ko pero nagutom naman ako bigla.lol The colored corns are so cute. Wouldn't have realized that they were corns. But the squash pancit canton (huge fan ako ng pancit canton kasi.haha) intrigues me but I'm not really familiar with the place where its from. Better to check baka meron sila binebenta dito :)
