Christmas is again just around the corner! Just few days more and it will be the most wonderful time of the year once again. Aside from the joy of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, our savior, the country is also exclaiming with songs and hymns proclaiming this wonderful event. And one of those who participate in this joyous activities are the children.

In the country, it is common to see kids outside singing carols from houses to houses specially in the province! It has been a part of our tradition and thus caroling is more fun in the Philippines!

When I was still a kid, I also had my fair share of caroling activities. Together with my friends, we would go around our neighborhood singing different songs from lively to solemn Christmas songs knocking on each house.

Each house owner has the right to decline but most of the time, they'll give few coins to the kids. Some would even give candies and food as well!

This might not be a common sight in the city but you'll find it randomly, perhaps on jeepneys and other public areas. But there's another type of Christmas caroling that my husband had witnessed today.

A group of teens and kids went to their office in Lahug, they were from the Children's Joy Foundation. They sang a few songs as a way of Christmas Caroling. Check their video below:

A few information about the foundation:

The Children’s Joy Foundation, Inc. strongly advocates the protection of children not only because of existing laws but also because it is every child’s right to be protected and cared for. It is the society’s innate responsibility to give every child the opportunity to lead a good life as a responsible, accountable, and productive individual in the community.

It is in this context that the Children’s Joy Foundation Inc. dedicated its efforts to help the disadvantaged, neglected and poor children in the Philippines. Since its registration as a non-stock, nonprofit organization on June 15, 1998, CJFI has been providing care and support to children and youth needing rehabilitative and developmental services. - Information from Children's Joy Foundation

My husband James was able to capture them in film and I was really glad to be able to share it with you.

What caught my attention was the little boy singing and dancing in front. They sang some fun songs like Baby Shark. There were also Christmas Jolly songs like Last Christmas I Gave You My Heart, there was also a Tagalog song with the theme of saying Thank You or Pasasalamat. Then they ended it up with a mash up of the Good Tidings and We Wish You a merry Christmas songs where the little boy shouted at every end part of the song!

It is also notable that these kids know how to play their instruments! There were different kinds of string instruments, I only knew guitar and the violin but don't know how the other two instruments's names are. Plus this boy playing the beat box! They are all amazing!

Aside from their cuteness, I am delighted to see their video and inspired as well to give back to the kids. It was also a great way to recall my childhood memories and of which I had enjoyed a lot doing when I was small.
