Visiting Divine Mercy Shrine in El Salvador City ( The Rio de Janeiro of the Philippines)

El Salvador City is located in Misamis Oriental. It is the next city after Cagayan De Oro going to the left side. It is the home of the iconic 50-foot statue of Jesus Christ called the "The Divine Mercy Shrine". It is believed that it is the tallest of its kind here in the Philippines. If you're familiar with Rio de Janeiro's "Christ the Redeemer" statue, you can say it is the Philippine version of it.
The Shrine serves as the pilgrimage of the devotees of Divine Mercy. According to some sources, they were able to purchase the 9-hectare area where the statue located by the donations of the devotees.
Aside from the Shrine, there is also a church which was a patterned from the thorn crowns of Christ. It offers masses for different occasions the whole year.
The way to the shrine is easy. It is cemented and is very accessible thru cars and other forms of transportations.
They also have a very organized parking space area which is a good thing if you're travelling with a car.
At the entrance, women are required to wear a long skirt when they are wearing pants. Long skirts are provided for free in the entrance.
The first structure we stumbled upon is the church. When we arrived, we are able to catch a mass service inside the church. The church has a very nice structural design from inside to outside. It feels like your connecting to God thru the church and it felt good.
After we finished the mass, we started to tour the place. Going outside the church, you can see the big statue of Christ. You will be amazed of its size and the details of its structure. Aside from the shrine, you will also witness the beautiful garden around the statue. It is carefully designed to perfection and no words can explain what can you see.
With my family, I took some photos which will serve as remembrance to our trip.
Aside from the Divine Mercy Shrine, there is also a Shrine of Mother Mary. It is not as big as the other one but still, it is marvel to behold.
They also have a water station which you can freely obtained by using a plastic container which is also sold at the store. It is believed that it can heal your wounds or any sickness you have when you drink from it.

Actually sir I came from Bukidnon, since this is just near the highway, we decided to go here. You should visit here when you go to cagayan de oro.
