A FILIPINO SONG MADE INTERNATIONAL -"ANAK"

How many steemians knew this song?

ANAK

When I was born on 1978, there’s a famous song in the world entitled ANAK. Anak is a Filipino word for Son or Daughter. This became a song when a Filipino songwriter made this until it became popular word wide. As a song, it was been a Finalist for the Inaugural 1977 Metropop Song Festival held in Manila, Philippines. It has an undying message to everyone.Until now this song will leave tears on your eyes after listening and understanding the lyrics. Anytime I sing this song to one of my cousins, she cries a lot and ended up a fight saying "stop it big sister, you already knew that I relate much on that song", which I myself can't help my tears not to fall.

Here is the Original rendition of the Song.

THE SINGER SONG-WRITER

ANAK was an original composition made by FREDDIE AGUILAR. His true name is Ferdinand Pascual Aguilar. Born on February 5, 1953 in Ilagan Isabela. His songs we’re mostly heavily influenced by his Filipino heritage, nationalist feelings, and tries to constitute a musical exploration of the Filipino ethos, spirit or character. That is why we Filipino call him as Makabayan which mean Patriotic. A country lover.

 HIS STORY ABOUT THE COMPOSITION

When he(Freddie) was 18 years old, he left home without finishing his studies that leaves dis-appointment to his father who has a plan for him to be a lawyer. Alone with his guitar only, he went to faraway places, no one to decipline, he got into gambling. 5 years later, he realizes his mistakes that leads him to write this song ANAK..this is the time when he wanted to go back to his family. A song of remorse and apology to his parents. He went back home and asked for forgiveness from his parents, who welcomed him with open arms. After his father read the lyrics of "Anak", the two became closer. The homecoming proved timely as his father died not long after. This story is an open book to every Filipino, and many relates to his story.

Woff, woff!

Hello @jerelyn, Nice to meet you!

I'm a guide dog living in KR community. I can see that you want to contribute to KR community and communicate with other Korean Steemians. I really appreciate it and I'd be more than happy to help.

KR tag is used mainly by Koreans, but we give warm welcome to anyone who wish to use it. I'm here to give you some advice so that your post can be viewed by many more Koreans. I'm a guide dog after all and that's what I do!

Tips:

  • If you're not comfortable to write in Korean, I highly recommend you write your post in English rather than using Google Translate.
Unfortunately, Google Translate is terrible at translating English into Korean. You may think you wrote in perfect Korean, but what KR Steemians read is gibberish. Sorry, even Koreans can't understand your post written in Google-Translated Korean.
  • So, here's what might happen afterward. Your Google-Translated post might be mistaken as a spam so that whales could downvote your post. Yikes! I hope that wouldn't happen to you.
  • If your post is not relevant to Korea, not even vaguely, but you still use KR tag, Whales could think it as a spam and downvote your post. Double yikes!
  • If your post is somebody else's work(that is, plagiarism), then you'll definitely get downvotes.
  • If you keep abusing tags, you may be considered as a spammer. It may result to put you into the blacklist. Oops!

I sincerely hope that you enjoy Steemit without getting downvotes. Because Steemit is a wonderful place. See? Korean Steemians are kind enough to raise a guide dog(that's me) to help you!
